Ahoj! (Hello!) Well, we had our Lions Party last night and the two highlight videos I did quick for the team were shown, so now I can put them on the world wide web! Here you go! The first two are the senior highlight video, with the English version first and then the Czech version. The third video is the junior team video. It is also official and was announced to the team, and people at the party, that I will be the head coach of the junior team next year! Big… Keep the prayers coming for this! Thanks for stopping by today!

This a completely random post, but I thought it would be fun. So here is a confession, over the past couple of years I feel that my true self has come out more and more. There was a moment, somewhere in high school, where I thought, “I’m the head football coach’s son, the captain of the football team and etc…..” When I thought that, I began making subconsciousness decisions to become someone I wasn’t. That someone was the all-American, clean-cut, golden boy who was what everyone else wanted him to be, so to speak. With that said, since I first moved to Europe, and I guess right before too, I’ve been on a rediscovery of ‘who is Zach Harrod.’ It’s been cool, because this isn’t merely evident, nor dictated, by my style or the things I choose to wear, but it is a reflection of it, to a degree. As I what I choose to wear is a reflection, of sorts, of my true self, I’ve seen that I’ve grown more and more comfortable in my own flesh and who I am in Christ. Which then leads to the out-workings of this in what I wear, watch, listen to, say, read and etc. So this is a circle of sorts, but the circle originates in me truly discovering who I’ve been made to be and not what I think others want me to be. It has been a fun adventure of rediscovery and I love feeling like I’m me and not some vanilla version of me.
Anyway, I’ve mentioned before, that I’ve been enjoying checking out the ART OF MANLINESS blog over the last month or so, and one of the posts that was entertaining was 10 Outdated Men’s Fashions That Still Have The Charm. The reason being because I love to combine old-school with contemporary and it usually leads to a bit of ‘eclecticness’, which I’m finding is very much part of me. As I read it and looked at the pictures I realized something! I want a cool pair of knickers!

Remember it’s only a 30 second piece, but my [our] hope is that it will be something that grabs people and can be a good ‘get to the site and start praying about spending a month here’ type of video. Thanks in advance for your help! I’ll be shooting it and editing it after Christmas. Be a Revolution!

This fall I was talking about the depth of Christianity in comparison to what I see with modern Christianity sometimes that might be described as a certain amount of superficiality with a friend. I know ‘superficial’ is a strong word, but hear me out. When I open the Bible I see beautiful depth and what could even be described as beautiful paradoxes, but when I look at what would be called contemporary Christianity, the word that comes to mind is superficial or even something like placing the life of a Christian or God in neat and tidy box of sorts. Then I ask myself, “Is it this neat? This tidy? Because it would appear not to be both played out in the Bible and also played out in life in the midst of a sin wrecked world!” I have to confess, that I certainly add to this and by no means would I ever say I’m innocent of increasing the superficiality of Christianity, but it is things like this that rack my mind. I know, I know… Maybe I should direct all this pondering to something more worthwhile, but that is the point – it is worthwhile! Because my [our] faith should be all encompassing! So anyway… back to my friend. He told me that I should listen to a radio show from the guys over at White Horse Inn, entitled “Happy Clappy Worship.” He then went on to explain it to me, I was intrigued, but not intrigued enough to run home and find it on the net, but yesterday I did. So I’m wondering, what do you think? Give each of the 4 segments a listen and let me know. Agree or disagree? Before listening please take a deep breath and relax. I’m a little “iffy” if I should post this, but I’ve been thinking about things like this for awhile now, and not just in response to worship but all of Christianity, and I’d love to hear what you think about it too! It doesn’t matter whether you agree with me or not, I’d love to hear what you think and then still be friends on the other end! 😉

So it’s no secret that I love what I do now, with AIA, but it’s also no secret that I want to plant some churches that plant churches that plant churches that plant churches and so on… I think you get the point. With that said, I live in the tension of now and the dream. Some days it’s tough, other days it isn’t, but I do my best to try to live and make the most of the now with having a eye on the future (I would argue with you that the church planting process, for me, has begun. It began when God got me here September 4, 2007)! Having an eye on the future includes reading, following blogs that will challenge me and keep me sharp, following and praying for friends who are planting churches, and much more. Two of the places on the web that always challenge me are 1) theresurgence.com and 2) Acts 29 Church planting Network. So here is what was swift kick to the gut today… 20 Characteristics of a Church Planter. For some of you other hopeful church planters, or current planters, out there, that I know are some of my most faithful readers, how you doing? I’m thankful for the Spirit of God is at work in me [us] and is producing this, because if it were up to me, I’d get a big F!

Recently, I just put up my most recent sermon preached at Faith Community Church here in Prague. We have been working through 1 Peter for the last couple months and my stud of a pastor, Phil, gave me a couple sermons! It is a blessing to have an avenue to continue to work on and grow in one of my giftings. Thanks Phil. Anyway, you can click on the podcast logo above or the podcast dude below to subscribe to my podcasts (or you can click here to listen/watch the content online), which consist of the zhtvs you see here on the blog and also little bonuses from time to time. Plus who wouldn’t want to take zach harrod around in their iPod? Haha… That could have sounded really arrogant or very odd. Well, enjoy the talk and have a great Tuesday.
