I’ve caught lots of grief from friends, both in Prague and in the States, about my twitter (Don’t know what Twitter is? Where have you been living? Sorry for the sarcasm, here’s an explanation.) habit over the last year or so. It’s actually been pretty entertaining at times. I’ve been “defrieneded” [...]
teaching football…

This week I had a fun opportunity, which I even got to share with one of my young teammates! Our young, stud outside linebaker, who we all call Ã…Â imi, and I had the chance to teach 19 kids at Christian International School of Prague a little football. That is a little American football. The unique thing about the group is that very few of the kids were Americans, so must of them had no idea about football, which was fun. I wish I would have asked where the kids were from too, but needless to say it was a very diverse group of children.
We started with learning how to throw and catch, then a couple of quick cone drills, and then a little pick up game. Needless to say, the game was a bit of controlled chaos! My favorite part was when I threw the ball to one of the kids, he caught it and then before he got tagged he threw the ball down field about 10 yards. The concept of a forward pass once was a little tough; in fact, this happened about 4 times in total in a 25 minute game. All in all, it was a great hour and some change and I am excited that Ã…Â imi was able to help me out! I would love for us, as a team, to do more of this more often to increase the popularity and maybe even have kids get interested in playing down the road. It is a bonus for me, because I get to do two things, 1) help the game here and 2) be a light to people through the game. Cool stuff.
