People often ask me how I can do what I do. They don’t question the part of my job that sees God move tangibly in the hearts of students, athletes or anyone that I have the privilege to see God move in, but the support part. The part that means going out and trusting God to move in the hearts of individuals, churches, and etc. to join me in advancing the Kingdom of God in what He has called me to. That is scary for most. I’ll be honest it is scary for me as well!
BUT I also see it as an amazing privilege and honor to see God have to stir the hearts of those who committed each month to send in their check or not cut me off. I also have the privilege of meeting people and having relationships with people that I never would have met if I didn’t have to raise support. Maybe you are one of those individuals! Know you are a blessing! Know I think and thank God for you often! Below is an email that I’ve wanted to post for a week or so, but I haven’t had a chance. Every now and then one of my ministry partners just blows me away and I am brought to tears that God would do such a thing. One of my ministry partners sent out a mass email to a ton of people before the Super Bowl in response to my email that I sent out about the Super Bowl Breakfast and Beyond the Ultimate (the website created to use the platform that Coach Smith and Coach Dungy had with the Super Bowl). At the end of the email my ministry partner had some very flattering and humbling thoughts about me and what God is doing with me. Thank you to this ministry partner and his amazing wife! Here is a portion of the email!
Below is a short article sent to me by Zach Harrod, a young man whose service as part of the Athletes In Action Team my wife and I support in small part and who will be attending the Super Bowl AIA Breakfast in Miami on Saturday to which both coaches have lended their support. Please take a quick read and then also consider visiting Zach’s website www.ZachHarrod.com to learn a bit more about this amazing young man who has such a heart for sharing his Christian faith in Eastern Europe primarily among a group of semi-pro football (the American kind) teams in Czech Republic.
I think you will be truly impressed with both Zach’s heart for Jesus Christ and the professional approach he takes to his ministry. As do all those who must raise their own support for their mission work, Zach could certainly use more monetary support. But please, regardless of whether you might consider that, please at least check out his web site since if you do I’ve no doubt you will be drawn to supporting him and his ministry with your prayers.
Thank you to these ministry partners and all of my ministry partners and chiefly our great God that is responsible for all of this!
