I’m not just breaking out the words to that Will Smith song about my Bears, but actually about myself! Yes you read that right, I’m going to Miami! I will be helping with our Athletes in Action Super Bowl Breakfast this Saturday down in Miami! I’m really excited to be going down because this might be one of the best breakfasts we have ever had yet. Why? The reason why is because Coach Dungy and Coach Smith are solid Christian men and they have signed off on a lot!

a punch to the stomach and a very special day!
So I’m putting some of the finishing touches on my work for Bible Interaction tomorrow. I should probably let you know what that is! See while I am at the Athletes in Action World Training and Resource Center we spend Mondays and Fridays in the office. Mondays consist of Bible Interaction homework (which is digging into a book of the Bible and learning as much as possible about the background of it and then we answer 7 questions from a portion of that book). Then after Bible Interaction we have some one come in and pour into us for several hours, the teaching we receive ranges from practical ministry skills to life skills to you name it! It’s great! For tomorrow we are looking at Romans 12 (one of my favorite chapters of the whole Bible) and one of the questions has been a punch to the stomach for me. It isn’t the most profound question but it has rocked me! Here it is and below are my answers! I pray God uses it in your life as well! [Read more…]
the man is bad… (so am I)
I was reading some blogs this morning and I happened to stumble across this John Piper/Michael Jackson remix! Yeah you heard that right – John Piper/Michael Jackson remix! My roommate and I both laughed out loud as we watched it. For those of you that followed my old blog you probably know that I am a huge Piper fan, he has been one of the biggest influences I have had in my walk with Christ, apart from Christ Himself and the Bible that is!

it is setting in…
“What?” you ask. The very true fact that my Bears are going to the Super Bowl! It took quite some time for it to even begin to set in! The reason being because for the last 21 years there hasn’t been a ton to cheer about and it seems like as a Bears’ fan I’m naturally a pessimist after rooting for the team for last 27 years, pretty much since I emerged from the womb!

getting rolling
Thanks for stopping by my newest space on the world wide web! My man Clint, over at Subdesign Studios, hooked me up with a great new site and a beautiful design! I’m in the process of taking some of my better posts from my former two blogs and post them up here and I hopefully will fill out the site soon. I haven’t gone public with this being up, so if you have stumbled across this and wondered, “What the heck is Zach doing?” No fear things will be up and going soon. Thank you for your patience until we are up and running!
veselé vánoce
Or in English, Merry Christmas! So as I am away from my home, Prague, another Christmas I can’t help but miss it! It is so enchanting during the Christmas season. (see the pic below) Which is interesting because this is one of the most atheistic countries in the world! But yet the still celebrate Christmas, paradox I know! Anyway there are some things I don’t miss – Christmas carp (see picture) and the Baby Jesus bringing Christmas gifts instead of Santa. Now I’m not a Santa hater, but if this is there belief and tradition it is a hindrance for us to talk about Jesus.
Because it is like me saying, “I have trusted in Santa Clause for my eternal destination!” Crazy right? [Read more…]
back with the fam, a Christmas wish, and some czech quotes
So yesterday I made the drive from Xenia, OH to Lake Geneva, WI and it was a good trip! The iPod was full of sermons and podcasts I needed to get caught up on and I made some phone calls that were productive! Now I am trying to figure out what to today and who to visit. But I wanted to post briefly to wish you a Blessed & Merry Christmas! I know I haven’t been posting much because of work and the new site coming soon, but know lots of cool things are in the works. I’ve posted a couple of my talks up as a podcast, so check those out.

a changed life
Tonight I was watching some videos on YouTube and I stumbled across an amazing video about a safety at Boise State who has encountered the Risen King! It is always fun to here stories of upside downness!
luther on romans
So I am studying Romans for a talk I will be giving at RiverValley Church on the 19th and I came across a great quote form Martin Luther on the importance of studying the great book of Romans:
“Romans is worthy not only that every Christian should know it word for word, by heart, but occupy himself with it every day, as the daily bread of the soul. It can never be read or pondered too much, and the more it is dealt with the more precious it becomes, and the better it tastes.”
jeremy camp’s new cd
On Tuesday Jeremy camp released his new cd, Beyond Measure, and I snatched it up on iTunes right away that morning. I have been very blessed by it over the last two days. It is a very God thing that it hits home with what is going on with my life right now! Here are the words for the title track, I pray they bless you too!
