g-ma update

October 24, 2008 by zharrod

g-rents
Thanks for the prayers! My G-Ma (again G-Ma is her rapper name, actually her full rapper name is “G-Ma to the S,” but that is a different post) made it through surgery well and came out of the post-op well! My mom and I agreed that if anything serious happened she would call my mobile phone, which is generally always near, but if things went fine she would call my vonage line and live a message. Throughout the night I woke up at different times and grabbed my phone to see if I missed a call. Thankfully I didn’t and there was a voice mail waiting for me. Thanks for the prayers. Keep them coming for her and my family. This is the first experience for me being so far away and something like this happening, so it’s been a bit challenging. God has reminded me though, that this sacrifice is worth it, and both my family and I will, in someway, be rewarded for our sacrifice and faithfulness in this. Well, I have to get to my spanking for the day, Oh I mean Czech class! 😉 My homework for today was to write an essay (in Czech of course) about why I don’t think it is possible for humans to keep the 10 Commandments! It was a bit challenging. Okay, I have to get out the door! Thanks again!

    Zach,

We are so glad that your Grandmother came through her ordeal fine. We know how these things affect the whole family.

Pray for our daughter, Anne. She is 38 years old with a little son, William, who is 5 yrs. old. She is in a very unstable marriage. We are asking God for very clear direction in this situation, protection, wisdom, and total trust in God. Thank you,
    Cleo

    Zach,
Glad to hear your grandma is doing well. Everything is always in God’s hands, but at times like these, we really have to trust Him!

This past summer, our family was leaving for a week’s vacation to Florida to see Michael’s mom and step-dad. After about 30 minutes on the road, my mom called to tell me my dad was not doing well and we should get to Joliet ASAP. Luckily we were headed in just that direction (God knew!) and 30 minutes after arriving there, my dad passed away.
Looking back now, I’m so thankful for all the things that God pre-orchestrated so that our whole family could be present when my dad passed into eternity. Adam was on his way from summer project in Chicago on the train, so he missed it, but got there before the funeral home arrived to take my dad’s body.
I know it must be hard for you to be as far away as you are, but it’s comforting to know that God is in control.
We’ll keep you and your grandma in our prayers!
    Love ya
    Cindy
