I was reading some blogs this morning and I happened to stumble across this John Piper/Michael Jackson remix! Yeah you heard that right – John Piper/Michael Jackson remix! My roommate and I both laughed out loud as we watched it. For those of you that followed my old blog you probably know that I am a huge Piper fan, he has been one of the biggest influences I have had in my walk with Christ, apart from Christ Himself and the Bible that is!
It is also ironic because yesterday as I met with my director here at Athletes in Action headquarters we talked about theology and how their will always be a gap between our theology in our head and that theology lived out. It can surely narrow, but nonetheless there will be gap. This is relevant to this post because I said that all too often I have an inflated view of humanity, and to be honest, of myself in particular! So when I saw this, “I am Bad!” rendition I laughed at how this has been on my mind! Oh how we need to see that our depravity is total and has corrupted every facet of our lives, every facet of humanity, only when we grasp this will our view of God come in to focus. His sheer grace in the face of our ugliness will be among the things that it brings into focus. It should also instill the fear in our hearts that we should have of the Sovereign God of this universe. I could go on, but I have to get some breakfast, some time with Jesus and off to campus!
Pray for the students at Wilmington College, as I make the drive down there for a FULL day of ministry! Be a revolution…
