Or in English, Merry Christmas! So as I am away from my home, Prague, another Christmas I can’t help but miss it! It is so enchanting during the Christmas season. (see the pic below) Which is interesting because this is one of the most atheistic countries in the world! But yet the still celebrate Christmas, paradox I know! Anyway there are some things I don’t miss – Christmas carp (see picture) and the Baby Jesus bringing Christmas gifts instead of Santa. Now I’m not a Santa hater, but if this is there belief and tradition it is a hindrance for us to talk about Jesus.
Because it is like me saying, “I have trusted in Santa Clause for my eternal destination!” Crazy right?
Anyway, I was talking with my director, Billy Crossan, over there about an hour ago and he had told me about there English class Christmas party they just had. There were 9 students there and one of the things they did was read the Christmas Story (that being the real meaning of Christmas – Jesus – and not reindeer or etc.) and not one of the students had ever, EVER, heard it before. Never heard the biggest and greatest news of all HISstory! Can you imagine? May God do something in Czech that is bigger than you or me. May He bring His name, His works to the knowledge of the Czech people! Blessings…
